Breakout Philippines - HIDE AND SEEK: A HORROR ESCAPE ROOM EXPERIENCE

According to superstition, once you dreamed about something, there's a high probability that it won't come true. Well, what are the odds that I dreamed of being inside of an escape room game with the exact people in this photo 2 weeks ago? Well, then why am I writing about our Breakout experience then?
One room. One mystery. 45 minutes. Are you in?

Breakout Philippines offers a real escape room game where you can solve mysteries and crime just like one of those FBI people you see on TV.
It was our first time to try something like this and we were so stoked as we wait minutes before our scheduled time at a small cafeteria beside/outside Breakout.
Hide and Seek
"There have been rumors that a particular room has had some paranormal activities. Being a skeptic of such, you and your friends decide to rent it out and put all those rumors to test. But once you get inside, the door locks shut. And you slowly discover the rumors are not rumors. Something is there... Waiting... Hiding."
The difference of Hide and Seek room from the other rooms, or perhaps Room 13, was that there wasn't a voiceover explaining the goal you have to accomplish. As it was said in the description, we were just bunch of skeptics finding out why it was "haunted".
A staff from Breakout explained some dos and don'ts inside the room like the light would flicker if we do something against the rule such as unnecessary moving of furniture. She also pointed out that Breakout doesn't tolerate violence in case of a high probability of punching your uncooperative teammate's face. There's safe phrase, "I need my Mommy!" or "I want my Mommy!" which meant you couldn't take it any longer, sign that the game's through.
We were blindfolded as we enter the room. The good thing about Breakout PH is that they have "no touch" policy. I was relieved because everyone knew that it was my pet peeve to be touched without consent (that's why I despise horror houses). The LED digital clock actually reminded me of the Saw film series...well minus the brutality of course.
Teamwork and focus are keys to solving the mystery. You also have to think out of the box as some clues were placed on spots where you least expected. The sound effects may distract you at first but once you're already hooked, even a creepy laugh on the background would hardly give you chills anymore.
As a result of our Hide and Seek experience...well WE WERE THAT CLOSE!!! I think was the most painful "almost" that happened in my life...or at least, recently (chos!). Even the staff that accompanied us in the beginning of the game was as frustrated as we were since we were down to our last key to escape the room.
Nevertheless, it was a fun experience and I highly recommend it to everyone who'd like to try something new with their friends. I would definitely come back to try the other rooms!
Some of the highlights of our Hide and Seek room experience:
-As I said, we were blindfolded as we enter the pitch black room. We were asked to fall in line and hold the shoulders of the person in front. My friend who was in the frontmost nearly had a heart attack as he was shocked by his own reflection in the mirror. #shooketh
-We were asked to pray and I was like "DI PO KAMI NAGDADASAL, SKEPTICS NGA PO KAMI DIBA? IN CHARACTER PO DAPAT!" (WE'RE SKEPTICS AND WE DON'T PRAY. WE SHOULD BE IN CHARACTER AS WE PLAY THIS GAME!)
-One of my friends was pulled back when he was close to entering the room just because my other friend didn't want to be at the end of the line. #ikawangalay!
